I'm posting since, while I wasn't as close to her as my brother was, I'll still miss her.
I've been told that today (Monday), Sparki our family cat was put to sleep after the symptoms of a cancer she has had for a few months now had increased to the point where she was unable to jump or climb any more. And being an outdoors cat, she wouldn't of been able to look after herself any more.
She had been medicated for the cancer and but after a treatment of steroids yesterday, it was clear any effect they had would only be slight.

Sparki 1997-2005
Age 8 (49)

She's adorable... I'm sorry. *hugstight* :( It's tough to lose a pet... and when it's a clinical thing, especially. Feel so helpless. But, putting her to sleep was the best thing for her.

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. I know what it's like. I lost both my family cats to cancer. One died of Lukemia in less than four days when he was 10 years old, and the other died of mammory cancer at 14. It's never easy... :(
